Maximum altitude : 3192 meters Duration of Trek : 10 days mountain lodge A hillock situated at an altitude of 3192 meters (Poon hill at sunrise) is perhaps the highlight of this journey providing some excellent views of both the Annapurna Himal to the east and the Dhaulagiri Himal to the west. This sun rise experience has become a particular focus for trekkers. Predominantly traveling through a Gurung cultural region there are some old villages on route to be enjoyed along with lush forests of bamboo, oak and rhododendron particularly apparent in the spring. This trek is the most popular trek in Nepal and whilst it can be busy by Nepalese standards during the major seasons, it still provides stunning scenery and opportunities to get closer to the ways of mountain life. There are plenty of lodges on the way with good facilities, hot showers and good food. If you are limited to time, or feel 7 days trekking is enough for you, this trek is ideal.
